RABAT, April 3 (Xinhua) -- The foreign direct investment (FDI) in Morocco shrunk by 28.8 percent in February, the foreign exchange regulator said Wednesday.

Morocco attracted FDI worth 321 million U.S. dollars in February, down from 451 million dollars in the same month of 2018.

In 2018, FDI flows to Morocco hiked by 28.6 percent to 3.5 billion dollars.

In February, remittances from some 5 million Moroccan expatriates dropped by 6.4 percent to 1.03 billion dollars, while Morocco's tourism revenues decreased by 4.8 percent to 1.06 billion dollars.

Tourism revenues and expatriates' remittances are the main sources of Morocco's foreign currency reserves.
