NEW YORK, July 27 (Xinhua) -- The New York Police Department (NYPD) was investigating several suspicious packages found at Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan.

At least three suspicious packages were found at three different locations outside Trump Tower, according to local reports.

Video footages on Twitter showed Fifth Avenue was closed between East 56th and East 57th streets and that the NYPD bomb squad was on scene.

It is not clear exactly what the items are or where they came from.

U.S. President Donald Trump was not in his namesake tower at the time. The building is owned by President Trump and the Trump Organization.
