SINGAPORE, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed down on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 2.2 percent or 76.55 points to close at 3,406.38.

A total of 3.76 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 2.87 billion Singapore dollars (about 2.17 billion U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 518 to 90.

The STI index closed down 1.33 percent or 46.89 points to close at 3,482.93 Monday. Enditem
