VLADIVOSTOK, Russia, April 27 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition highlighting the achievements of Chinese modernization was held in the far eastern Russian city of Vladivostok, drawing more than 300 attendees.

Visitors included representatives from the political, business and academic communities of Primorsky Krai, as well as diplomats from various countries and members of the local overseas Chinese community.

The exhibition features around 30 carefully selected photographs from China's Xinhua News Agency, showcasing the historic and transformative progress of China's modernization across fields such as the economy, science and technology, culture and people's livelihoods. It also highlights exchanges between Chinese and Russian youth.

Wu Demin, Chinese Consul General in Vladivostok, accompanied Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of Primorsky Krai, on a tour of the exhibition.

China's sustained efforts, adherence to its development path and respect for its traditions have facilitated remarkable progress, Kozhemyako said, referring to China as a friendly neighbor and a key partner of Primorsky Krai, with two-way trade accounting for 70 percent of the region's total foreign trade, and more than 60 Chinese-funded investment projects currently underway.

Wu said that China's modernization offers important development opportunities for Russia and that 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the China-Russia strategic partnership of coordination and the 25th anniversary of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, as well as the launch of the "China-Russia Year of Education."

These milestones, he said, provide a valuable opportunity to deepen cooperation and strengthen friendship.

Wu also emphasized that Primorsky Krai, positioned at the forefront of China-Russia cooperation, enjoys unique geographical advantages and serves as a key hub for subnational exchanges, a major gateway for economic and trade cooperation, and a vital link for people-to-people and cultural ties between the two countries.

This photo exhibition was jointly organized by the Chinese Consulate General in Vladivostok and Xinhua's Asia-Europe Bureau.
