TOKYO, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares opened slightly higher Friday morning tracking gains in U.S. technology stocks overnight.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 82.46 points, or 0.37 percent, from Thursday to 22,594.99.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 1.96 points, or 0.11 percent, at 1,754.05.
Gainers were led by miscellaneous product, oil and coal product, and transportation equipment issues.
